Traditional tip distribution is often manual, time-consuming, and difficult to track. Sellers frequently relied on cash payouts, lacked visibility into tip distribution, and faced administrative overhead managing tips across their workforce. At the same time, employees increasingly expected faster access to earned tips and liquid financial benefits, with many willing to switch jobs for employers offering more flexible payment options. For Block, the opportunity was to bring the ecosystem closer together by connecting tipped workers to Cash App through a more modern payout experience.
As lead designer, I led the creation of Square's Instant Tips experience, enabling businesses to distribute tips digitally while giving employees immediate access to tip earnings through Cash App. As a net-new product initiative, we took a phased approach to delivery—testing assumptions, validating user pain points, and incorporating seller and employee feedback throughout the process to inform each stage of the rollout and reduce risk as the product scaled from concept to launch.

I have a background in advertising and marketing, and found my way into product design through motion graphics. These days, I still occasionally animate things just for fun.
Outside of work, you'll usually find me traveling, hiking, playing tennis, or somewhere at a music festival. I'm also an avid gamer, and a lot of my inspiration comes from experiences that spark wonder and delight.
Here are a few things I've been into lately.
